|Pattonville sponsors accident docudrama to emphasize safe choices for prom|
|Thursday, April 27, 2017|
Pattonville High School encouraged its juniors and seniors to have a fun, but safe prom night by hosting a docudrama reenacting a tragic car accident on the high school parking lot.
Operation Prom Safe was sponsored by Pattonville High School with the assistance of Pattonville theater students, the Maryland Heights Police Department and the Pattonville Fire Protection District. The docudrama provided a dramatic reminder for students of the dangers of drugs and alcohol and driving under the influence. Student actors dressed in prom attire were made up to reenact traumatic injuries. They were placed in wrecked vehicles prior to the beginning of the program. Juniors and seniors in the audience watched as rescue crews extracted the victims and handled a mock student fatality.
The event takes place before Pattonville's prom, which is scheduled for Friday, May 5.
