Thursday, June 15, 2017
The Pattonville Board of Education was named a 2017 Outstanding Board of Education for Human and Organizational Capital by the Missouri School Boards' Association (MSBA). MSBA's Outstanding Board of Education awards encourage effective board practices and recognize outstanding board performance in six categories. Pattonville's board was one of 16 boards out of more than 500 statewide to receive an outstanding board award and the only board in Missouri to receive an award in its individual category. This is the fourth time since 2002 the board has earned state-level recognition.

Winners in the respective categories were selected by a committee made up of school board members from districts throughout the state. The awards were announced at the 2017 MSBA Leadership Summit on June 3. Since 2013, MSBA's outstanding board awards program has recognized outstanding performance in the following categories: teaching, learning and assessment; human and organizational capital; climate, culture and organizational efficacy; school finance resources; physical and environmental resources; and governance, leadership and accountability. Previously, MSBA awarded one overall award to school boards for effective leadership. The human and organizational capital category honors boards that demonstrate excellence in the areas of recruitment and hiring; growth-oriented culture; professional growth; and retention of high-quality staff.

The Pattonville Board of Education won MSBA's Outstanding Board of Education Award for Teaching, Learning and Assessment in 2016; for Governance, Leadership and Accountability in 2013; and the MSBA Outstanding Board of Education Award in 2002. Pattonville's board was also a finalist for the award in 2011 and 2008. Members of Pattonville's Board of Education are: Jeanne Schottmueller, president; Andrea Glenn, vice president; Ralph Stahlhut, secretary; Mary Kay Campbell, treasurer; Brian Gray, director; Ruth Petrov, director; and Mindy Ridings, director.
