Senior Celebration held to recognize post-secondary plans

Pattonville High School held a Senior Celebration during all lunches on May 12 and 13.

“We're celebrating the seniors and all of their plans for next year, whether that's college, the military, or starting a work career,” college and career preparation counselor Michelle Luraschi said.

National College Decision Day was May 1, but Pattonville’s version had more of a focus on celebrating all seniors for making it through this difficult time and less on where they are going to school for the next four years.

“We had photo stations for kids to take selfies, maps so they could write their name and show where they are going, plus cupcakes and a gratitude station for writing thank you notes to those who have helped them this year.”

Graduation is scheduled for May 27 and Luraschi planned the event toward the end of May in order to celebrate the seniors as much as possible over the next two weeks.

“It's been a tough year for everybody with COVID and virtual learning but the seniors have done an awesome job of persevering through the challenges and preparing for their future.”
