Melissa Yount-Ott - Principal

I'm proud to be the principal at Parkwood Elementary, home of the Panthers! Education has been my passion for years, and I'm honored to lead this wonderful school community.

My journey in education began in the classroom, where I had the joy of teaching young learners. I then expanded my experience as an instructional coach and assistant principal, before serving as the Director of Elementary Education for Pattonville School District for five years. Throughout my career, I've earned my undergraduate and graduate degrees from Maryville University, followed by a specialist degree in school administration from the University of Arkansas.  I believe in continuous learning, and I strive to bring that same passion for learning, growing, and being future-focused to Parkwood.

As a mom of two myself, I understand the importance of creating a nurturing environment where all students feel a sense of belonging. My vision is for Parkwood to be a school that fosters leadership, a love of learning, and a strong sense of community. Together, we can empower our Panthers to reach their full potential!
